In June, RMBF attended the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s Annual Session in New York, NY. On the return flight, Mario Blanco had a chance meeting with Grammy Award Winning composer/producer Michael “Magnedo7” Crawford. After sharing Raven’s story with Michael, Mr. Crawford told Mario he was going to write Raven a song. A few months went by and after Michael and his new bride Shameia settled into their new life as husband and wife they sat down and the song, Guardian Angel “Raven’s Song” was written. Michael and Shameia attended MasqueRaven II, RMBF’s annual Masquerade Ball fundraiser, where Shameia performed the song.

 

 

A few weeks later Executive Director, Nicole Cunha received a phone call from Misty Brownell, C.O.O. of Dream Little Dreamer, an organization dedicated to nurturing and enhancing the talents of children ages 3 -21 through events and rewards. Misty was looking for kid friendly organizations to network with. Misty and Nicole connected right away and both expressed the desire to connect again in the near future. So a few months later when the opportunity to work with Dream Little Dreamer arose, RMBF, Inc. jumped at the chance. Nicole sent Misty a quick note asking if the Dream Little Dreamer group would be interested in recording a song written for Raven. Next thing you know Nicole is put on a call with Alisha M’Jestie Brooks, CEO of Dream Little Dreamer. M’Jestie is known for her personal role in initiating the famous career of renowned singer Rihanna with her writing the hit “Pon De Replay”. Yet, even with all the success she’s enjoyed the impact of producing such a beautiful song is surely to go untouched.

Written in memory of little Raven Maria Blanco, dedicated to all of the world’s lost little angels and performed by the children of Dream Little Dreamer the lyrics of this song are surely to surely to have an impact.

Alisha M’Jestie Brooks – Executive Producer responded,

“[it is a] Life Changing Opportunity for Dream Little Dreamer to be a part of the RMBF. We’re looking forward to saving lives, one AED at a time.”

Courtney Beard – Musical Production responded,

“I remember meeting with M’jestie around midnight and listening to her passionately tell the story of RMBF. My heart immediately began to stir. I listened intently knowing that whatever she was asking me to lend a hand with I would be all in. She allowed me to hear Ravens song. I was moved and could only think that I couldn’t wait to start on the music to continue the quest of telling the story and raising awareness. Working with the kids to capture the DNA of this song was amazing. My prayer is that this song would ring in the heart of those around the globe. This song will make a difference.”

Paul Arnold – Mixing Engineer responded,

Mr. Arnold references a quote in the Bible when speaking of his work with RMBF, Inc.: “Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. ” (Phillipians 2:1-2)

Over 25 children participated in the “Inspire a Nation, Save a Child” project. The track, Guardian Angel “Raven’s Song”, written in memory of little Raven Maria Blanco, is dedicated to all of the world’s lost little angels. It is now available to purchase on several music outlets including iTunes:

The proceeds from the song will go to The Raven Maria Blanco Foundation. RMBF, Inc. will in turn donate 25% of the earnings to a non-profit in support of the Dream Little Dreamer Foundation. A lack of funds dedicated to enhancing the arts in our education system continues to be a problem. Keep our little dreamers dreamin’.
