James “Jim” Patterson

Position: Office Manager/Community Outreach Specialist

James “Jim” Patterson joined the RMBF team as a full-time Office Manager/Community Outreach Specialist in May 2013, but has volunteered with the organization for more than two years. In fact, it was through a referral that Jim made a cake for a RMBF event, and started offering his culinary services for various functions.

Jim has a background in management in the food and retail industry for seven years. He has also volunteered extensively with Relay for Life, helping manage the local fundraising events. Once linked with RMBF, he also helped prepare for events and fundraisers. Through RMBF, Jim hopes to spread the word about medical awareness and safety issues. He knows medical mistakes can happen to anyone at anytime, and wants to prepare dental offices and patients for these types of events.

Jim recently married, Jaclyn, who also volunteers with the organization. The couple says the RMBF workers and volunteers are like a second family to them. The duo will work together, when possible, to help spread the word about RMBF.

“I’m very excited about joining the team I have worked with for a few years now,” Jim said.
“It feels natural being around and helping with anything I can.”

A graduate of Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake, Jim went on to study early education development and child psychology at Tidewater Community College. Through his years working in management, he picked up culinary skills as well as taught food safety courses.
